Farewell Radu Lupu

Filarmonica della Scala joins the music world in mourning the death of pianist Radu Lupu, recalling the many concerts the Maestro gave at Teatro alla Scala and on tour under the direction of Riccardo Muti, Gary Bertini and Daniel Barenboim.

"We made music together for 40 years, and we were friends. An absolute perfectionist who repudiated microphones, prone to rethinking interpretative "commonplaces", profound, original, introspective, surprising, with a provocative temperament but always with grace, ironic, never violent, with a humour unsuspected at first sight. A great performer. It is an unbridgeable loss. I will miss him a lot", said Riccardo Chailly.
