"Maura Giorgetti" Scholarships 2022

Awarded Francesco Papa for violins, ex-aequo winners Tobias Ingrosso and Clemente Zingariello for cellos

The final rounds have ended for the awarding of the two scholarships, worth €4,000 each, that Filarmonica della Scala, together with main partner UniCredit, reserves each year for talented young musicians to support their professional training. This year the call for applications was intended for instrumentalists between the ages of 14 and 19 in the violin and cello categories.

The competition jury, made up of first parts and Philharmonic musicians, awarded the violin scholarship to Francesco Papa (Rome, 2006) and the cello scholarship ex-aequo to Tobias Ingrosso (Padua, 2006) and Clemente Zingariello (Matera, 2004).

The three very young musicians are added to the roll of Filarmonica della Scala scholarship recipients. Established to support deserving students during their studies at Italian conservatories and advanced training schools, the Scholarships of Filarmonica della Scala have brought to the public's attention violin talents such as Gennaro Cardaropoli, Teofil Milenkovic, Fabiola Tedesco, Lucilla Rose Mariotti; cellists such as Elena Piccotti, Serena Fantini, Luca Giovannini, Francesco Stefanelli, Ettore Pagano; and again flutist Emanuele Orsini and clarinetist Giona Pasquetto, launching them into professional careers.
