Due to an illness, Conductor Marc Albrecht, expected in Milan for the Filarmonica della Scala concert on Sunday 31 October at 8 pm at Teatro alla Scala, has been forced to withdraw. He will be replaced by Vasily Petrenko, Conductor of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the European Union Youth Orchestra, whom we thank for his willingness to replace Albrecht just a few hours before the start of rehearsals. The programme of the concert, entirely dedicated to the music of Richard Strauss, remains unchanged: in the first part Petrenko conducts the intermezzo Traumerei am Kamin and the Vier letze Lieder with the participation of the soprano Malin Byström, a refined interpreter of Strauss' music and recently appreciated on the main international stages as Salome and in Rosenkavalier. After the interval, the evening continues with a performance of Symphonia Domestica op. 53, the German composer's musical autobiography.
Träumerei am Kamin - Symphonic interlude op. 72 for orchestra
Vier letzte Lieder op. 150 for soprano and orchestra
