Ingo Metzmacher is on the podium in Milan (Jan. 22-25, 2024) and at Teatro Valli in Reggio Emilia (Feb. 13) for a double date to mark the centenary of Luigi Nono's birth, and to remember Claudio Abbado on the 10th anniversary of his death, with a performance of Como una ola de fuerza y luz, soloists Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Serena Sáenz. The piece for soprano, piano, orchestra and magnetic tape was premiered right at Teatro alla Scala, on June 28, 1972 with Abbado conducting, soprano Slavka Taskova Paoletti, piano Maurizio Pollini, tape made by the RAI phonology studio in Milan, sound technician Maurizio Zuccheri, sound direction Luigi Nono.
