On the occasion of Filarmonica della Scala 2024's second concert of the season scheduled for Jan. 29 at Teatro alla Scala, which marks Daniel Barenboim's return to the podium, the Maestro and the orchestra's musicians open an Extraordinary Open rehearsal to the public on the occasion of Memorial Day. The musical program is entirely dedicated to Ludwig van Beethoven, with Symphony No. 6 in F major Op. 68 Pastoral and Symphony No. 7 in A major Op. 92. Proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Associazione Figli della Shoah APS, of which Senator Liliana Segre is honorary president. Born in Buenos Aires in 1942, he took his first piano lessons with his mother at the age of five and then continued his musical studies with his father, who would remain his only piano teacher. At age seven he gave his first public concert. In 1952 he moved with his family to Israel and at age eleven attended Igor Markevitch's conducting course in Salzburg.
