BIOGRAPHY

Born in Sarno, having completed her classical high school diploma, Gilda Fiume graduated in singing in 2009 from the Salerno Conservatory of Music with top honors and then specialized in the following two years at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia under the guidance of Renata Scotto. Since 2014 she has been a student of Mariella Devia.

After ranking in numerous international competitions and participating in several masterclasses, she made her debut as Leonora in Verdi's Il Trovatore at the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo. This was followed by Lucia in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor at the San Carlo in Naples, the Regio in Parma and the Lirico in Cagliari; Amina in Bellini's La Sonnambula at the Bellini in Catania; and the title role in Donizetti's Maria de Rudenz at the Wexford Festival; Donna Anna in Mozart's Don Giovanni in Sassari and Bergamo where she is also Eleonora in Donizetti's Torquato Tasso for the Donizetti Festival; the leading lady in Bellini's Norma conducted by Daniel Oren; and Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata in Salerno.

He has collaborated with artists such as Gianni Amelio, Henning Brockhaus, Denis Krief, Daniel Oren, Pierpaolo Pacini and Stefano Ranzani.

Her recent engagements include Violetta in La Traviata in Treviso and Trieste, a 'Tema Oriente' concert at the ROH in Muscat and an Opera Gala at La Fenice; Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor and her debut as Gilda in Verdi's Rigoletto at the Verdi in Salerno both conducted by Daniel Oren; Lucia at the Seoul Art Center; Gilda at the Teatro Regio in Turin; her debut as Marie in Donizetti's La Fille du regiment in Salerno; Donna Anna in Don Giovanni in La Coruña; Lucia di Lammermoor in Modena and Rimini; La Traviata at the Regio di Torino; her U.S. debut as Violetta with the Boston Symphony Orchestra; La Sonnambula in Cagliari; Nikodijević's 7 Deaths of Maria Callas at the Liceu in Barcelona; Norma at the Carlo Felice in Genoa; Lucia di Lammermoor at the Comunale di Bologna.

She made her debut at the Teatro Filarmonico in 2016, in the role of Amina in La Sonnambula; she returned for the tenth and twelfth rounds of the 2020 Symphonic Season and for the 2021 Note d'Augurio concert.

She makes her Arena di Verona debut in 2022 as Micaela in Bizet's Carmen, a role with which she returns for the 100th Opera Festival 2023, and as Violetta in La Traviata.
