BIOGRAPHY

Benjamin Grosvenor has been hailed as one of the most important British pianists in recent decades, and recently Gramophone mentioned him as one of the top fifty pianists ever on record.

Events from recent seasons include highly successful debuts with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by Paavo Järvi, the Cleveland Orchestra conducted by Elim Chan, the RSO Wien with Marin Alsop, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra conducted by Maxim Emelyanychev for the Radio France Festival, as well as various projects as Artist in Residence at Sage Gateshead, Wigmore Hall and Radio France.

Benjamin Grosvenor has received Gramophone's 'Young Artist of the Year' award, a Classical Brit Critics' Award, the UK Critics' Circle Award for Exceptional Young Talent, and a Diapason d'Or Jeune Talent Award. He has appeared in BBC television documentaries, BBC Breakfast, Front Row, and CNN's 'Human to Hero' series . In 2016, he became the inaugural recipient of the Ronnie and Lawrence Ackman Classical Piano Prize, with the New York Philharmonic.

He studied at the Royal Academy of Music, where he graduated in 2012 with the 'Queen's Commendation for Excellence' while in 2016 he received a RAM scholarship. Benjamin Grosvenor is an 'Ambassador' of Music Masters, a charity dedicated to making music education accessible to all children, regardless of background, by supporting diversity and inclusion.
