Leonidas Kavakos is recognized worldwide as a violinist and artist of rare quality, acclaimed for his unparalleled technique, captivating artistry, superb musicianship, and the integrity of his playing. He collaborates with the greatest international orchestras and conductors and plays recitals in the world's leading concert halls and festivals. Leonidas Kavakos has developed close relationships with renowned orchestras such as theFilarmonica orchestra in Vienna, the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig. Leonidas Kavakos also works frequently with the Dresden Staatskapelle, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Filarmonica della Scala Munich, Budapest Festival Orchestra,Orchestre de Paris, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala.

In recent years, Leonidas Kavakos has also established himself strongly as an orchestral Conductor , working with Filarmonica della Scala of New York, the Houston Symphony, the Dallas Symphony, the Gürzenich Orchester, the Wiener Symphoniker, theOrchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Filarmonica della Scala of Teatro La Fenice and the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. Recently, he conducted Filarmonica della Scala of Israel with great success. In the 2022/23 season Leonidas Kavakos is artist-in-residence of theOrquesta y Coro Nacionales de España, an organization with which he will appear as violinist and as Conductor throughout the season. She will hold a European tour with Yuja Wang, as well as tour the United States with Her regular partners Emanuel Ax and Yo-Yo Ma. He will play several concerts in Europe and the Middle East with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and Daniel Harding, and will return to perform with Filarmonica della Scala in Vienna, the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, theOrchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the NDR Hamburg, the New York Philharmonic, and Filarmonica della Scala Czech. As Conductor conductor, he will lead the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, the RAI Turin Symphony Orchestra and the Minnesota Orchestra. Leonidas Kavakos will also appear frequently in Asia, thanks to a 'residency' at the Tongyeong International Festival and a series of recitals in Japan and South Korea, where he will play Bach Partitas and Sonatas, following the release of his album "Bach: Six Solo," which has garnered enormous critical acclaim.

Leonidas Kavakos records exclusively for Sony Classics. Recent releases, in Beethoven's 250th anniversary year, include Beethoven's Violin Concerto conducted and played with the Bavarian Symphony Orchestra and the re-release of his 2007 recording of Beethoven's Complete Sonatas with Enrico Pace, for which he was named Echo Klassik instrumentalist of the year. In early 2022 Leonidas Kavakos released, "Beethoven for Three: Symphonies Nos. 2 and 5" arranged for trio and performed with Emanuel Ax and Yo-Yo Ma. The second album in this series, titled "Beethoven for Three: Symphony No. 6 Pastorale and Op. 1 No. 3," was released in late 2022. Born and raised in a family of musicians in Athens, Leonidas Kavakos curates an annual violin and chamber music masterclass in his hometown, which attracts violinists and ensembles from around the world. Leonidas Kavakos plays the 1734 Stradivarius "Willemotte" violin.
