Sunday, June 10, 2018 at 9:30 p.m. Filarmonica della Scala della Scala returns to Piazza Duomo with the Concerto per Milano, sixth edition of the annual free symphonic event that transforms the heart of the city into an "Open
Air" concert hall. Conducting the orchestrais Riccardo Chailly, this edition's guest soloist is Russian pianist Denis Matsuev, performing Pyotr Il'ic Tchaikovsky's monumental Concerto for piano and Orchestra No. 1 in B-flat min op. 23, one of the most celebrated pieces in the piano repertoire and among the most beloved by audiences. The second part of the programis again a tribute to the great Russian composers: Chailly conducts Pictures from an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky in Maurice Ravel's orchestration.
Rai Cultura will broadcast the concert live on Rai 5 in HD, directed by Patrizia Carmine, on the web portal RaiPlay and on Radio3. Thanks to RaiCom, it will also be broadcast live in Germany, France and the French-speaking countries by Arte, in Greece, Korea, and deferred in Slovenia, Hungary, Japan and China.
