Gianandrea Noseda returns to Teatro alla Scala, this time conducting the National Symphony Orchestra of which he is Principal Conductor. Founded in 1931, it is among the best-known orchestras throughout the United States, the star of hundreds of concerts and one of the largest educational programs in the country, including free concerts on Capitol Hill in Washington on national holidays. Commissioning and performing new music are at the heart of its activities: the orchestra brings to La Scala the new co-commission to Carlos Simon, American composer-in-residence at the Kennedy Center.
