French pianist Bertrand Chamayou is linked to Maurice Ravel by a deep artistic and personal affinity. In love with his music since he was nine years old, Chamayou spent his vacations a few meters from his birthplace in Ciboure and studied with Jean-François Heisser, whose teacher Vlado Perlemuter was a pupil of Ravel himself. Still by Ravel is the exceptional orchestration of Musorgsky's Pictures of an Exhibition , a masterpiece of the repertoire that Swiss Conductor Philippe Jordan offers along with Debussy's Prélude a l'après-midi d'un faune .
