"The most beautiful thing for an orchestra Conductor is to meet so many people. However, the opposite is also true, the most difficult thing is to say goodbay to so many people. In my opinion, for Elgar this piece represents the same thing. It represents human life." Kazuki Yamada - Conductor from Japan who grew up under the wing of Seiji Ozawa - will make his Teatro alla Scala debut with Elgar's Enigma Variations, the English composer's masterpiece that has remained in his heart since he became Conductor Musicale of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. Equally exciting will be Tchaikovsky's Concerto in D major in the hands of Nikolai Znaider, whom Philharmonic audiences still remember from the 2017 Cathedral Square Concert.
