Milan, Dec. 19, 2023 - Opening on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 8:30 p.m. is the thirteenth edition of the charity Open rehearsals created by Filarmonica della Scala in collaboration with Main Partner UniCredit and the result of their mutual commitment to the themes of social responsibility, accessibility and inclusiveness. The invitation-only opening night is dedicated to the city. In agreement with the City of Milan, a portion of the tickets is reserved for those segments of the population that find it most difficult to access Milanese cultural life as well as for charities. On the podium Matthias Pintscher, one of the most interesting conductors of the new generation, accompanied by Ilya Gringolts, among the top virtuosos of the violin conducts a fascinating musical program featuring Stravinsky's Le Chant du Rossignol , Mar'eh Concerto for violin and orchestra written by Pintscher himself, Masques et bergamasques, Suite for orchestra by Fauré and Debussy's La Mer.
Next up are four ticketed appointments, from April 7 to November 3, 2024, supporting as many organizations that carry out projects aimed at combating educational inequality: on Sunday, April 7, 2024, is Open rehearsal conducted by Myung-Whun Chung in support of Fondazione Don Gino Rigoldi. The Sunday, May 12 rehearsal is with the Philharmonic's Conductor principal Riccardo Chailly and the very young Alexander Malofeev at piano to support theMercury Association. The Sunday, October 6 rehearsal features Giovanni Sollima Conductor and solo cello and raises funds for Children in Crisis Italy. Closing the 2024 cycle is the Sunday, Nov. 3 rehearsal with Fabio Luisi on the podium and Imogen Cooper at piano to support Communities of Giambellino.
