Two new young musicians are added to the roll of Filarmonica della Scala 's annual awardees and are awarded, thanks to the support of Main Partner UniCredit, the two scholarships worth €4,000. The award, established in 2011, aims to identify musical talents of the youngest generation and support them in their professional training. This year the call for applications was intended for instrumentalists aged 15 to 24 in the horn and trumpet categories.
At the end of rehearsals in recent days, out of 18 candidates the competition jury, made up of first parts and musicians from Filarmonica della Scala, awarded the horn scholarship to Michele Orlando (Feltre, 2003) and the trumpet scholarship to Eugenio Valle (Asti, 2001).
The Scholarships of Filarmonica della Scala, created in 2011 with UniCredit to support deserving students while studying at Italian conservatories and master schools, have brought to the public's attention violin talents such as Gennaro Cardaropoli, Teofil Milenkovic, Fabiola Tedesco, Lucilla Rose Mariotti, Francesco Papa; cellists such as Elena Piccotti, Serena Fantini, Luca Giovannini, Francesco Stefanelli, Ettore Pagano, Tobias Ingrosso, and Clemente Zingariello; and again flutist Emanuele Orsini and clarinetist Giona Pasquetto, launching them into professional careers.
