La Scala is back in town

From July 9 to 12, an open day and 14 free performances in the city's nine town halls.

La Scala in the City reaches its third edition offering 14 performances in four days from July 9 to 12 at venues located throughout Milan's nine city halls. Important new features of this edition include an open-door day at La Scala where young people, adults and families can experience the arts and crafts that make the magic of music and theater possible, two evenings of dance and music at Castello Sforzesco, as well as new venues in different city halls.

Admission is free for all performances and initiatives, but reservations must be made at www.lascalaincitta.it starting at noon on Tuesday, July 4.

Protagonists of the performances are the musicians of the Filarmonica della Scala, performers from the La Scala Chorus directed by Alberto Malazzi and the Corps de Ballet directed by Manuel Legris, and solo singers, the Children's Voices Choir and the Academy Ballet School Teatro alla Scala.

La Scala in the City is realized by the Theater in collaboration with Filarmonica della Scala and Accademia Teatro alla Scala as part of the "Milano è viva" initiative promoted by the City of Milan, but it is also an important ground for dialogue and discussion with associations in the area. In addition, the evenings of dance and music on July 10 and 11 are part of the Summer at the Castle calendar.
